HXC series is a distance monitor priced at around USD 77 in hundreds. It
uses a broad beam transceiver, and is therefore less sensitive to the
orientation of the object. It is useful for position or level
measurements in cases where the objects are not necessarily flat and
orderly. And it may also be useful for liquid level measurement. The table below is a
general selection guide, if you don't find a device that suits your

The illustration below shows how the HXC converter
series can be applied. The brown wire is connected to a volt meter.
In case of the Distance to Voltage converters the voltage
is proportional to the distance or
- Voltage (brown wire) = 0.625 * D ........... varies from 0.19 to
5 volts
In case of the Proximity to Voltage converters the
relationship is as follows
Voltage (brown wire) = 0.625 * (8 - D) .............
varies from 0 to 4.8 volts
Where D is the distance between the reflecting surface and
the converter. Max Distance is as specified in the Distance to Voltage
converters, or Proximity to Voltage tables below
