Miscellaneous beam widths and ranges available up to 8 meters

The hx19doppler-3 is a wide beam ultrasonic transceiver, capable of detecting objects up to 3 meters away. It emits an ultrasonic pulse train, and returns key elements of the echo through its data port. The unit has a spectral sweeping function to reduce probability of stealth. I.e the shape of the object is less likely to make it invisible to sonar. The user (see illustration above) can control R1 which extends the red zone proportionally in all directions. Same goes for the gray exclusion zone, if R0 is changed the hemisphere changes proportionally. All analyses are confined to the red zone only. The device returns a Doppler deviation map. Not only can the user tell the distance to the echo, but also if the subject is in motion i.e. approaching or leaving. This device provides the user with a sense of distance to the object, its rough size/orientation and it’s motion.

Data from the red zone is ASCII coded eight bit integers separated by space and terminated with a carriage return. The data can either be streaming or fetched by polling from the hx19doppler com port. Com Port interface options are: USB, Serial (Rs232) and custom.
